Harsvoorbehandeling
Harsen van industriële kwaliteit bevatten allemaal inerte oplosmiddelen, dus ze moeten in verschillende mate worden voorbehandeld, afhankelijk van de toepassing: voeg in de extractor 10-20 cm ethanol toe boven de harslaag en laat 3-4 uur weken. De methode bestaat uit het toevoegen van een 3-5% zoutzuuroplossing 10-20 cm boven de harslaag en deze 2-4 uur te laten weken. Dezelfde concentratie, 5-7 keer het volume zoutzuuroplossing, werd gespoeld en vervolgens grondig gespoeld met schoon water tot de pH-waarde van de uitlaatwasoplossing neutraal was. Vervolgens werd de oplossing 2-4 uur geweekt in een 5% natriumhydroxide-oplossing volgens de bovenstaande methode en werd dezelfde methode toegepast.
